Electronic Shelf Labels Transform Retail Pricing in 2026
Pricing in retail isn’t as fixed as it used to be. Woolworths has already rolled out more than 17 million electronic shelf labels (ESLs) across 600+ stores, while Coles continues to test the technology.
Once ESLs are in place, prices start responding to what’s actually happening on the shop floor. Retailers aren’t fully committing to dynamic pricing yet, but the trend is clear: stores are gradually building toward more responsive, data-driven pricing.

This evolution is beginning to play out in real stores, and it will be a focus for the upcoming Retail Show Australia 2026. Attendees will have the chance to see how ESL solution providers, including Gold Sponsor ETAG-TECH, are shaping this space and helping retailers bring smarter pricing strategies to life.
Visit the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22–24 September 2026 to explore the latest innovations in retail technology and see ESLs in action.
